Dec 1 - smith jazz w rich fabec at walt's in marion. 530pm. sunday eve.
Dec 3 - smith jazz private christmas party w darrel hicks on guitar. christmas jazz.
Dec 7 - postponed til Dec 14. snow and ice. smith plays some christmas jazz tunes at harrisburg library reception. saturday afternoon 2pm or so.
Dec 7 - shawnee telephone christmas party. private. equality, il. TAXI band. ice did not deter them.
Dec 8 - smith/fabec at walt's in marion. 530pm. sunday eve. brave the weather. cabin fever relief.
Dec 14 - see Dec 7. harrisburg library reception rescheduled. 1-4pm.

smith live music morello's patio schedule 2013 (latest)
May 29 - expecting a return treat w some bossa/latin from flute guest,
sophie cape, home from NYU, supported by melinda tolley and smith.
June 5 - wade newton w groove jones to cover for smith. acoustic rock, country, pop. talented bunch indeed.
June 12 - rich fabec on guitar returns w smith for jazz.
June 19 - bruce (Lester) boone on sax joins smith for some standards, pop & smooth.
June 26 - wade newton joins smith. expect a party and some sing along.
July 3 - greg "hod" hodson on alto sax returns w smith. expect some lite jaz n pop w horns.
July 10 - smith to jazz camp. wade newton holds the fort.
July 17 - rich fabec on guitar joins smith. cool down w hot/cool jazz.
July 24 - smith solo. probably some vibes.
July 31 - expecting a guest from a former life (Don Pritchard) to sing some standards w smith. he's on his way. cu this eve.
Aug 7 - ol buddy wade newton to join smith. vocals in the usual format. plan to offer some new classic tunes.

penguins at Taste of S IL - 2013
again this year (15th) the PENGUINS will bring jazz to the patrons of
the TASTE OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. music performers to be announced. jim smith, keys and vibes. 5-8 pm
sunday march 24, 2013 at southeastern foundation building, harrisburg,
illinois. the TASTE is a public, ticketed, charitable fund raiser,
hosted by the Southern IL Community Foundation. best restaurants in
Southern IL provide the food - PENGUINS the music. Not to be missed. good time wuz had. musicians: melinda tolley, george sisk, greg hodson, bruce boone, jim smith. u shudda been thar.

smith live music morello's patio schedule 2013
2013 per morello's management. probably no music outside when the forecast is
for 40 degrees or less. check this blog page or call morello's at
252-2300 to be sure, and to make table reservations. patio dining and live music in the heated enclosure when weather cooperates.
Jan 9 - smith will resume live music in the new (smokeless) heated hut on the patio at morello's most wednesdays, beginning jan 9. rich fabec (guitar) is back too. come on out for tunes, grub and drink. give it a try. enjoy the winter warm snap. snow shud be gone. music after 530pm. (sorry for late notice.) was a great time. seems like the folks are gonna dig da bubble. no smoking inside either.
Jan 16 - smith solo. cold. few braved it. thnx herrons, u guyz are faithful.
Jan 23 - no music tonite. per morello's management. probably no music outside when the forecast is for 40 degrees or less. check this blog page or call morello's at 252-2300 to be sure, and to make table reservations.
Jan 30 - let's hope for warmer weather to continue. check back about jan 29-30 to see about music for jan 30. if we play - will be joined by melinda tolley on keys, flute,vocals. but forecast looks like cold again by weds nite. stay tuned. per mo's management no music tonite jan 30. too chilly. foul weather. plan to resume soon. thnx for checking.
Feb 6 - probably no music in spite of warmer trend this week. if mo's decides to the contrary i will post it here.
April 3 - late and short notice, but music will resume on newly renovated patio. call morello's 252-2300 to reserve table to eat. music by 6pm, maybe sooner.
April 10 - expect rich fabec to join smith. it's been a while. patio is dry and warm.
April 17 - expect wade newton to join smith. welcome back. wade is also playing on some saturday nites at the morello's patio. check it out.
April 24 - probably smith solo. need some sun.
May 1 - wade newton and groove jones, covering for smith. u can sing along. catch wade on many saturday nites at mo's too.
May 8 - bruce "lester" boone on saxes to join smith. standards and pop.
May 15 - melinda tolley on keys and voice to join smith.
May 22 - greg "gums" hodson on sax w smith. hod has been on medical leave. standards w some pop.
