It's time AGAIN for Smith's PENGUINS live music on Morello's Patio in Harrisburg.  It may rain, but the good folks at Mo's have a roof and heaters for the Patio.  We began on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 and plan to continue every Wednesday into the Fall. 

Plans are to continue with musical variety.  Performers from last years sessions will return, with a few new ones.  If you have a strong longing for someone or something in particular, don't hesitate to ask, and to check this site for upcoming plans and schedule.  If you plan to eat on the Patio, reservations are suggested (pretty much a necessity.)  BUT SOMETIMES THEY APPARENTLY WILL MAKE NO RESERVATIONS.  FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED AND SEATED. Call Mo's at 618/252-2300.  ASK FOR AND TALK TO DAVID DENNISON TO MAKE RESERVATIONS. Check this blog or call Mo's for your questions about weather postponement.  Seldom occurs.  Music will start usually before 6pm, sometimes earlier by 5pm or 530pm, and continue at least til dark, often later.  EXPECT COVID19 SAFETY MEASURES TO APPLY - SOCIAL DISTANCING, MASKS, ETC - PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE OF THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND RIGHTS OF OTHERS. SMALLER GROUPS ENCOURAGED.

ANNOUCEMENT: Morellos had announced a plan to continue Wednesday live music as the weather cools off.  Plan is to use the "back room" inside.  Social distancing and COVID19 safety measures are to be maintained. This is/was to start in November.  Now, the IL Governor has again restricted indoor use of bars and restaurants for Region 5 beginning Oct 22. Stay tuned.  The Patio at Mos has flaps and heaters.  Maybe the weather will cooperate.  Support and enjoy live music.  Thanks.

Nov 2 - hod returns on sax with smith.  also darrel hicks on guitar, too.  jazz.  gonna be unseasonably warm. can watch series game 7 on tv on morellos patio if u want.

Nov 9 - hodson on sax. smith on keys. jazz n improv.  the heaters work on the patio. comfortable with the flaps down.  celebrate the election being over.  wow.

Nov 16 - warmth continues. darrel hicks on guitar and hod on sax to join smith on keys/vibes.  plan to start by 530pm.  good music. jazz and improv. when it gets really cold you'll be glad you came.  maybe last chance this season.

2015 smith penguins live music morello's schedule 2015 (begin April 1, 2015)

It's time for Smith n PENGUINS live music on Morello's Patio in Harrisburg.  It may rain, but the good folks at Mo's have a roof and heaters for the Patio.  Begin April 1.  No April Fool.

Plans are to continue with musical variety this season.  Many, if not most, of the performers from last years sessions will return, with a few new ones.  If you have a strong longing for someone or something in particular, don't hesitate to ask, and to check this site for upcoming plans and schedule.  If you plan to eat on the Patio, reservations are pretty much a necessity.  Call Mo's at 618/252-2300.  Check this blog all call Mo's for your questions about weather postponement.  Music will start usually around 6pm, and continue at least til dark.  There has been some expansion of Patio music to weekends; let us know what you think.

Emphasis will be on live music (mostly instrumental): blues, classics, Americana, roots, standards, jazz, R&B, pop, contemporary, folk, great American songbook, more.  Frequently Smith will host musical guests.  To get an idea of what to expect look at posts below of prior years schedules.  The price is right - FREE;  the food and drink - not free, but STELLAR.  (Tell em to bring back Stella on draft.)  Check it out.  Great scene for special events, like birthdays or retirements.  Uptown in Harrisburg, Illinois.

AND a very special treat: cody sandusky to join smith. two keyboards. plus keyboard w bass.  memorial scholarship at anna high in memory of rich fabec.  details to follow. last wednesday night of this year for patio jazz.  come on out.  celebrate life and improvisation.  that's what rich would want us to do.
