jim smith, piano and rich fabec, gutar will present songs worth knowing, a program of improvised music featuring tunes from the great american songbook. 2pm sunday april 10, 2011 at the southeastern illinois college vpac theater lobby. final concert for the sic cultural arts series 2010-11. no reserved seating.
having pain and numbness in right arm, probably pinched nerve in neck. my first exposure to chiropractor and massage. final preparations for show must involve rest and little or no piano playing. if not ready now, never will be anyway.
ReplyDeletethursday april 7 blurb in flipside/the southern identified rich and jim as sic (southeastern) professors. we are not. don't know where that came from. had an email from a friend with congrats on my promotion, no doubt well deserved. right.
ReplyDeletewell it went pretty well, i reckon. some folks really seemed to enjoy it, my filibuster notwithstanding. or maybe they felt bad about leaving once they got there. several surprises in attendance and in absence. no one claimed the guarantee for refund of the $10 ticket. ann larson a friend from st lou won the drawing for the framed print of the cubist guitar/piano duo. she deserved it for coming so far, and is truly a fan and supporter of the music. not just jazz. private jokes: 1) wud have been nice to have a program. 2) one wud think a professor could get that job done. thnx to all who helped and who came. thnx to primary care for support of program and series.
