Plans are to continue with LIVE musical variety.  Check this blog site for upcoming plans and schedule.  If you plan to eat, or want to be assured of a table, reservations are suggested (pretty much a necessity.)  BUT SOMETIMES THEY APPARENTLY WILL MAKE NO RESERVATIONS.  OFTEN - IT IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED AND SEATED. ANNOUCEMENT: Morellos had announced a plan to continue Wednesday live music as the weather cools off.  Plan is to use the "back room" inside.  Social distancing and COVID19 safety measures are to be maintained. This is/was to start in November.  Now, the IL Governor has again restricted indoor use of bars and restaurants for Region 5 beginning Oct 22. Stay tuned.  The Patio at Mos has flaps and heaters.  Maybe the weather will cooperate.  Support and enjoy live music.  Thanks.

It's time for Smith n PENGUINS live music on Morello's Patio in Harrisburg.  It may rain, but the good folks at Mo's have a roof and heaters for the Patio.  Begin April 18 and continue every Wednesday into the Fall. 

Plans are to continue with musical variety this season.  Performers from last years sessions will return, with a few new ones.  If you have a strong longing for someone or something in particular, don't hesitate to ask, and to check this site for upcoming plans and schedule.  If you plan to eat on the Patio, reservations are pretty much a necessity.  Call Mo's at 618/252-2300.  Check this blog or call Mo's for your questions about weather postponement.  Music will start usually by 6pm, and continue at least til dark, often later.  There has been some expansion of Patio music to weekends; let us know what you think.

Emphasis will be on live music (mostly instrumental): blues, classics, Americana, roots, standards, jazz, R&B, pop, contemporary, folk, great American songbook, more.  Frequently and usually Smith will host musical guests.  To get an idea of what to expect look at posts below of prior years schedules.  The price is right - FREE;  the food and drink - not free, but STELLAR.  (Tell em to bring back Stella on draft.)  Check it out.  Great scene for special events, like birthdays or retirements.  Uptown in Harrisburg, Illinois.

May 2 - melinda tolley to sing. smith on keys plus greg hodson on soprano sax.  maybe more. shud be gud.

May 9 - darrel hicks on guitar. smith on keys, maybe vibes/malletkat. maybe more.

May 16 - smith solo. be surprised.

May 23 - darrel hicks and smith.

May 30 - bruce "tune" boone on sax w smitty. pop n standards. devil's finest hour.

June 6 - darrel hicks on guitar.  hod on sax. smith on keys & mallets.

June 13 - five or so acoustic guitars.  by popular demand per da crowd. expecting:  terry russell, roger black, bob hill, pat abell and smith.  singin n playin.

June 20 - wade newton singin n playin guitar with smith.  wade can sing.

June 27 - joe fred drone (old school band) on guitar joins smith. a first.

July 4 - morellos live music will be idle.  shoot off fireworks.  act independent.

July 11 - greg hodson on sax. smith on keys. (guest allison dennison on tenor sax.)

July 18 - wade newton guest host musician. great singer. smith absent. was jamie and a bass player i am told.

July 25 - expect student of greg hodson on sax - allison dennison on tenor sax. support our youth in jazz.  plus hod and smith.  she was good. big crowd.

Aug 1 - darrel hicks is back on guitar w smith on keys.

Aug 8 - greg hodson on sax joins smith on keys. jazz n pop.

Aug 15 - darrel hicks on guitar w smith on keys.

Aug 22 - smith keys. hodson sax. jazz n bossa. beautiful evening. nice crowd.

Aug 29 - pat abell (taxi) joins smith.  pat will sing and play guitar as only he does.

Sept 5 -  melinda tolley to croon some tunes with smith and hodson. jazz. bossa. standards.
