Aug 20 - pat abell w smith. acoustic guitar. country n rock etc. was really nice. pat will be back soon.

Sept 10 - bruce boone on sax reconnects w smith for some great tunes.

Friday Sept 26 - homecoming special event. class of '64's 50th reunion. wade newton joins smith on the patio, after the football game. good time was had......
Oct 1 - wade newton is back w smith. peoples choice.
Oct 8 - after a long absence, greg hodson is back on sax w smith. standards and jazz.
Oct 15 - smith solo. jazz standards. rained out.
Oct 22 - smith solo, probably. call in advance is advised. looks to be cool, but dry. heaters in bubble.
Oct 29 - smith playing scary (halloween) jazz. expect cool. skip the world series.
Nov 5 - smith to be joined by wade newton. birthday party celebration. season winding down.
Nov 12 - too cold sez the boss.

again this year (16th) the PENGUINS will bring jazz to the patrons of
the TASTE OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. music performers to be announced. jim
smith, keys and vibes. 5-8 pm
sunday april 6, 2014 at southeastern foundation building, harrisburg,
illinois. the TASTE is a public, ticketed, charitable fund raiser,
hosted by the Southern IL Community Foundation. best restaurants in
Southern IL provide the food - PENGUINS the music. musicians: melinda tolley, bruce boone, jim smith. good crowd.

Jan 22 - rich fabec to join smith for some jazz, blues. mostly instrumental, in da bar.
Jan 29 - smith solo.
Feb 5 - foul weather, snow, ice, cold. music cancelled for tonite. pray for warmth.
Feb 12 - morellos is calling off til warms up for patio. stay tuned. heat is good. spring surely is not far away.
